Case Notes
This case involves a 57-year-old female who underwent bilateral avulsion brachioplasty (arm lift) following significant weight loss. Dr. Isakson uses this technique to preserve lymphatics, blood vessels and nerves during the arm lift to minimize discomfort and maximize recovery! The procedure aimed to address excess skin resulting from a 100-pound weight reduction. The pre-operative image displays marked skin laxity and preparatory surgical markings, indicative of the areas targeted for tissue removal and contouring. Six months post-operatively, the after photo shows the arms with noticeably reduced skin redundancy and a smoother contour. The surgical scars are visible along the inner aspects of the upper arms but are healing as expected at this stage. This outcome highlights the changes in arm appearance from before to after the intervention, focusing on skin tightness and overall arm shape.
